2007 Annual Report

As we approach our two BILLIoNth Bluetooth device shipped, I am sure the prominence of Bluetooth technology in consumer electronics today would have astonished those first engineers designing the technology ten years ago. In 2008, we mark the 10-year anniversary of Bluetooth technology and we have just welcomed our 10,000th member. It will truly be a year for the power of 10. Bluetooth technology has been one of the fastest growing brands ever thanks to our strong and visionary member base. In the coming year, we will lay the groundwork for some exciting developments and bring Bluetooth technology into new marketplaces. We expect to see testing of the ultra low power and high speed Bluetooth Specifications by the end of 2008. These high speed developments will allow consumers to transfer bulk entertainment content within their personal area network. Ultra low power Bluetooth technology will take us into vast new markets like medical monitoring, sports and fitness. This ultra low power Specification will let Bluetooth technology be used in button cell battery devices, like watches and sensors. While we are wrapping up another groundbreaking year, you can see we have some exciting work ahead. It will again take a concerted effort by all our members to keep Bluetooth technology ever evolving. With these new Specifications and the collective wisdom of the Bluetooth community, I am confident we will continue to make Bluetooth technology thE standard for short range wireless connectivity.
