The interface between the module and processor is very important, as all four parameters of the connected ports in terms of current and voltage must be matched according to Fig. 4. Although internal clamping structures are designed into the driver IC, some processors, such as the TMS320LF2401A have even lower absolute maximum voltage ratings of their I/O-pins than the clamping voltage of the gate driver IC. In the case of TMS320LF2401A or TMS320LC2401A, the maximum rating is VIN = 4.6V. [3]. Hence, only an additional pull-up resistor circuit to the processor’s supply voltage is able to keep the correct interface between the module and the processor [4].
