During Hurricane Katrina and the resulting flooding, the New Orleans Fire Department lost 22 of 33 firehouses. Several of them have been replaced through the efforts of the Leary Firefighters Foundation, founded by comedian/actor Denis Leary, who stars as a firefighter in the television series “Rescue Me.” Frigidaire has joined in to help renovate the remaining firehouses. The restoration project will enable firefighters to move out of temporary trailer homes and back into fire stations. The station’s kitchens will be outfitted with a suite of Frigidaire Professional Series EasyCare Genuine Stainless Steel appliances, which include a refrigerator, freestanding range, microwave and icemaker.
