LCD multifunction touch monitor that features the Tyco Electronics Elo TouchSystems’ acoustic pulse recognition (APR) touch technology. The APR touch technology operates by listening for a touch. A touch at each position on the glass generates a unique sound and tiny transducers attached to the edges of the touchscreen glass pick up the sound of the touch. The sound is then digitized by the controller and compared to a list of prerecorded sounds for every position on the glass. The cursor position is instantly updated by the touch location. In addition to APR, the 1529L includes options for an integrated three-track magnetic stripe reader, 2 x 20 vacuum fluorescent rear-facing customer display and a biometric fingerprint recognition device. Ten new modules are available and they come in 44 mm x 26.8 mm Mini-DIP packaging. The modules feature built-in HVIC that provides a single-grounded power supply for an optocoupler-less interface. A built-in NPT IGBT provides optimal tradeoffs between conduction losses and switching losses, the company says. The new units have EERs of up to 4.2. Because the compressor motors are 100 percent suction gas cooled, and no additional liquid injection or its associated components are needed, the compressor can be fully insulated to reduce operating sound levels. The material is compatible with flexible PVC, allowing dispersion without pre-compounding. It has an 80A hardness that extrudes well with clarity and has successfully performed in vacuum cleaner hoses, the company says. Adding the material helps improve the tensile, tear, abrasion resistance and cold temperature properties of PVC, the company says. The controllers use the principle of the differential expansion of metals to control internal electrical contacts and regulate temperature. This technique is accurate and linear in a temperature range from colder than 50 DegF to 600 DegF. The controllers are installed in direct contact with the heated surface, allowing temperature changes to be sensed. They offer a narrow temperature differential and are UL component recognized for a minimum contact life of 100,000 cycles.
