Appliance Design - December 2008 - (Page 16) NEW PRODUCTS opment tools, including the MPLAB IDE, the MPLAB C30 C compiler, the MPLAB REAL ICE emulation system, the MPLAB ICD 2 incircuit debugger, and the MPLAB PM3 universal device programmer. For more information, email: jim.kurtz@microchip.com the light beam from multiple directions, including the X-, Y-, and Z-axes. The switch provides protection from low-level light conditions and immunity from background irradiance. The input diode’s maximum forward current is 50 mA and maximum forward voltage is 1.7 V. Reverse DC voltage is 2 V, with reverse current of 100 µA. The permanently elastic, primer-less formulations bond and seal a variety of dissimilar substrates including metals, glass, nylon, and plastics. The one-component, odorless adhesives are non-corrosive and free of solvents, isocyanates, silicones, and PVC. They cure by reacting with ambient moisture, achieving functional strength in 24 hours, and are compatible with many paint systems. The 5510 is available in white, grey, or black, and simultaneously bonds and seals. The 5570 is available in clear or white, and replaces mechanical fasteners and rivets. It provides vibration and sound-damping benefits. The “building block” connector system allows customers to create customized configurations. The crimp terminal utilizes a spring-box design for enhanced reliability across an extended temperature range. Its head- and tail-carried design eliminates the need for customers to monitor cutoff dimensions in application tooling, while four independent points of contact help assure a highly reliable interface. MarKK terminals are available in both pre-plate and post-plate tin versions, as well as post-plate select gold. The XAH, XAS, XDH, and XDS series are available from stock in more than 300 sizes ranging from 0.375 in. to 10 in., 13 mm to 300 mm. The company also offers four additional standard series of snap rings in both inch and metric units. In total, more than 1,000 stock sizes are available in both carbon and 302 stainless steel. Custom snap rings are available from 0.2 in. to 90 in. It has an integrated USB 2.0 device, embedded-host, dual-role, and On-the-Go functionality. Additionally, the integrated charge time measurement unit peripheral, and the mTouch Sensing Solution software development kit enables designers to add a capacitive-touch user interface without any external components. The MCU can be combined with the company’s free graphics software library, and is supported by devel16 applianceDESIGN December 2008 OPTEK Technology The OPB420 Series is a slotted infrared optical switch for non-contact interruptive object sensing. It includes a phototransistor and an 880 nm wavelength infrared LED with a power dissipation of 100 mW. Both devices are housed in a right-angle plastic package, which allows for an opaque object to block The VX CAD/CAM Version 13 is an assembly visualization tool that lets users toggle the display mode of any component. A user can see inside of a gearbox or through a mold plate, and render it as transparent or wireframe. The software offers dynamic slicing in a real-time interference check. It lets users see all interferences as the slice plane is moved across the assembly. This provides instant interference feedback and virtually eliminates the need to process a separate interference check. Users can continue to model while in a sliced display and can save sliced views to be recalled later. For more information, email: mmg@Vx.com www.applianceDESIGN.com http://www.appliancedesign.com
