Toyota to Build Second Assembly Plant in India TOKYO—Toyota Motor Co. is building a second plant on the site of its Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Ltd. automobile production facility in Bangalore, India. When it ramps up in 2010, the plant will have an initial annual production capacity of some 100,000 vehicles. It will produce a number of passenger vehicle models, including the Corolla and a new compact vehicle still in development. Currently, Toyota produces approximately 52,000 Corollas and Innova minivans in India. By 2010, the two Bangalore plants are expected to have a combined annual production capacity of approximately 160,000 vehicles.
