EMS Industry Grew 17 Percent in 2007 FRAMINGHAM, MA—The worldwide electronic manufacturing services (EMS) industry grew at an annual rate of 17 percent in 2007, generating $268.1 billion in revenue, according to a recent report by the market-research ﬁrm IDC. Although original design manufacturers are continuing to grow market share, the EMS sector still accounted for more than 60 percent of all electronics manufacturing worldwide.
