Assembly - January 2009 - (Page 11) Make Better Parts. Let Balluff Show You How! Sensor-driven error proofing is the fastest, easiest, and least expensive way to get to zero defect production. Whatever the problem, whatever the issue, there is a sensor and a way to deploy it to drive out production and assembly defects. Sensor application expertise is the key. Order a production error proofing audit and let Balluff show you how to produce perfect parts every time, all the time. Printer Provides Speed, Precision The TTM430 thermal transfer printer is durable, compact and well suited for use by medium- and large-volume assemblers. The system’s printing sensors ensure accurate starts and stops. This, in turn, allows faster print speeds and less label waste. The TTM430 prints on a wide variety of materials, including both thermal transfer labels and heat-shrink markers. The system is available with a cutter option, and is ethernet and wireless network compatible, so that operators can create labels in multiple locations. The TTM430’s status monitor alerts operators when it is out of ribbon or running low on labels. The system is equipped with a 300 dpi printing head and is capable of print speeds up to 7.87 ips. Cordless Driver Reaches Tough Spots The BDA350 18-volt LXT Lithium-Ion cordless angle drill operates at up to 1,800 rpm and delivers up to 121 in.-lb of torque for use in a wide range of drilling and driving tasks in wood or steel. The BDA350 features a compact four-pole motor and an aluminum gear housing. It weighs 3.5 pounds and includes a 3/8-inch keyed metal chuck for improved bit gripping power. The keyed chuck also helps reduce the size of the angle drill head, making the BDA350 ideal for use in close quarters. Each BDA350 comes with two 18-volt LXT Lithium-Ion batteries, a charger, a carrying bag and a battery cover. Makita U.S.A.
