Assembly - February 2009 - (Page 10) NEW & NOTEWORTHY Dispense Two-part Materials Ma The PR70v variable-ratio meter, mix and dispense system can be used to dispense a wide range of two-component materials and is well suited to potting, gasketing, sealing, encapsulating and syringe filling. The system can accommodate shot sizes up to 70 cc and material ratios from 1:1 to 24:1 with an accuracy of ±1 percent. Its MD2 dispense valve provides accuracy under high pressures and is available in a number of different configurations: Options include multiple seat styles, an independent air cylinder, adjustable snuff-back control and customized material mixing. The PR70v’s optional Advanced Display Module offers a number of features, including programmable dispensing of seven unique sequences and up to 50 shot sizes, multiple shot counters and a numeric keypad for easy entry. Graco Inc. 877-844-7226 www.graco.com Tags Guarantee Correct Tool Usage New robotic end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) with RFID tags automatically ensures that the correct tooling is being used when multiple products are being processed on a single manufacturing line. The system employs an RFID tag on the EOAT mounting plate, which identifies itself to a reader installed on a standard quick-change mounting chuck attached to the robot. The tooling’s RFID has built-in I/O capability and operates on eight different channels. It is easy to integrate into an existing platform and supports PROFIBUS-DP, DeviceNet, Modbus-TCP, PROFINET and EtherNet/IP. By ensuring the correct end effector is in place, the system helps prevent expensive damage due to system crashes.
