Also the vertical stator teeth create a motor with a smaller outside diameter when compared to existing fan motors. The smaller diameter means that the motor and fan hub diameter are equal, which should improve airflow, reduce bearing wear, and eliminate potential resonant vibration. This improvement is not affected by the power source since the bobbin wound coils can be designed for a 12V DC source or a line AC source without any modifications to package size. Flexibility and adaptability are hallmarks of the Powder Keg® design. The vertical stator teeth allow operation in an inner, outer, or dual rotor configuration. The Powder Keg® also has a hollow internal space ideal for incorporating pump impellers, gear heads, fan blades, and/or control electronics.
