Designed and produced for the Australian market, the Electrolux Jeppe Utzon grill was designed in collaboration with Jeppe Utzon, grandson of Jorn Utzon, who designed the Sydney Opera House. The barbeque features sharp, minimalist lines with strong Scandinavian architectural styles, and is meant to fit into contemporary architectural landscapes. Lars Erikson, design director of Electrolux Home Products for the Asian Pacific region, says that the barbeque was designed for Australians who enjoy outdoor living and that the design is meant to fit the architectural trend of blurring the boundary between the indoors and the outdoors. The barbeque has a flat surface, and to keep the unit safe from the elements, the barbeque features ScotchBrite 304 stainless steel covers that slide open to reveal a laser engraved control panel and the grill unit. The base is made from Corian, a high-end, and heavy-duty material known for its use in kitchen countertops. The International Appliance Manufacturing 2008
