Akzo Nobel Opens Plant in Dubai AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands — Akzo Nobel Powder Coatings has opened a landmark facility in Dubai. The new factory is the company’s first manufacturing site in the United Arab Emirates. Located in Jebel Ali, 35 kilometers southwest of Dubai, the new site offers a full range of services and products, including color matching, rapid made-to-order products and technical support. Charles Ross & Son Opens Factory in India HAUPPAUGE, NY — Charles Ross & Son Co. has announced the opening of a new manufacturing plant in Pune, India. While Ross will initially manufacture dry solids blenders and high-shear mixers at the facility, it expects to expand the facility and add new product lines within the next 12 months. Although offered to the worldwide market, the products will initially be marketed primarily in India and other countries in Southern Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. Ross’s Regional Manager, Lokendra Singh, will oversee the new factory. Reichhold to Grow in India RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — Reichhold has announced its intention to invest in a greenfield facility in India. The company has started construction at a site located at Ranjangoan, in the Pune District of the Maharashtra state. The new facility is scheduled for completion in September 2008. Reichhold plans to bring experience, technical support and high business standards to the region.
