N AMES IN THE NEWS RPM International Inc. has appointed retired U.S. Army General John P. Abizaid as a member of its board. He will be a Class II member of the board and serve on its compensation committee. His term will expire in 2009. Shamrock Technologies Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of additive products, has announced the appointment of Richard Baillie to the newly created position of Vice President of Marketing. In his new role, Baillie will focus primarily on supporting growth initiatives that capitalize on new products and markets. Baillie joins Shamrock with 29 years of experience in the fluoropolymer industry where he has worked in R&D, manufacturing leadership, global procurement, sales and marketing, and business leadership. as Senior Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer at GMAC ResCap. He succeeds Jim McCreary, H.B. Fuller Controller, who has served as interim Chief Financial Officer since February 2007. McCreary will continue in his role as Vice President and Controller for H.B. Fuller. Bleisteiner Branson Specialty Polymers Inc. has hired Russ Grillo to be the company’s Southwest Regional Sales Manager. In his role as Sales Manager, Grillo will be responsible for leading the company’s sales growth in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas. Justin Kowallek has joined Q-Lab Corp.’s Sales and Marketing staff as a Dieckman Kowallek Sales Representative serving the U.S. and Canadian markets. He is based at the company’s headquarters in Cleveland. Steven Leach, a sales professional working for building-related companies in the Midwest, has been named the Midwest Regional Sales Manager for Dryvit Systems Inc. Leach has spent most of his career working in the sealant industry, most recently with S&S Panel Sales of Illinois, where he was responsible for the sales and service of its sealant business. His territory covers northern Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. Alberdingk Boley has appointed Paul Bleisteiner President of Alberdingk Boley Inc., the U.S. division of the global resin supplier based in Greensboro, NC. In his new position, Bleisteiner will be responsible for further market penetration of Alberdingk Boley into the North American coatings market and the continued high growth rate of sales and production from its North Carolina facility. Leach William G. Branson, Senior Vice President, Operations and Supply Chain for Reichhold, has decided to resume his retirement as of July 1, 2008. Branson rejoined Reichhold in 2004 in his current role after he retired from the firm in 2000. Bart Lorenzo and Dan McManus have joined the E. W. Kaufmann Co. Lorenzo, who will be General Manager, comes to the company with 31 years of experience in the paint industry. His responsibilities will include purchasing oversight and sales liaison between principals and the E. W. Kaufmann sales team. McManus comes to E.W. Kaufmann from Finnaren and Haley Paint Co. He has experience covering a broad spectrum of uses and applications, including acrylic, alkyd, urethane and epoxy system technologies. Stefan Marcinowski, member of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE, took over the Chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of BASF Coatings AG on January 1, 2008. The Board elected him to succeed the former Chairman, Dr. Andreas Kreimeyer. ROTEX Global LLC has named Robert W. Dieckman to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his new role at ROTEX Global, Dieckman held positions at Basco Manufacturing Co. and Engineering Excellence Inc. Rohm and Haas Co. has named Jim Fahey, Cathie Markham and Hua Du Vice Presidents. All three are also members of the Rohm and Haas Co. Leadership Council. Jim Fahey has been named President and Business Unit Director, Microelectronic Technologies. Cathie Markham has been appointed Vice President Technology for CMP Technologies and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Electronic Materials. Hua Du has been named Rohm and Haas China President, CBT General Manager – Asia. James R. Giertz has joined H.B. Fuller Co. as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
