Landmarks Veolia Water, based near Paris, was recently chosen Water Company of the Year at Tr u c k s and SUV vehicles have a reputation of being gas-guzzlers and emitters of large volumes of CO2, which environmentalists argue are significantly causing global climate changes. However, it was noted that famous vehicles such as Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce or Maserati have large engines that can put out more emissions that an SUV or small truck. The makers of these luxury cars argue that their products serve a small segment of the population and are normally driven much less than other cars and should be exempt from the emissions rules proposed by the E.U. They also make the claim that their products are a rare art form that needs protecting. “As a high-luxury brand we are representing Europe to the world,” Lamborghini Chief Executive Stephan Winkelmann told Reuters news agency. “We are a species to protect.” Most of the executives believe that hydrogen fuels will not be a viable alternative for many years to come. Electrically powered cars will not have mass appeal. Also, there is a lot of concern over aesthetics. These types of vehicles not only do not emit any CO2 but they are silent. Customers expect the throaty sound that currently comes for the tailpipes and would reject the silent running of an electric sports car.
