Last-minute training can become a major burden for any company. Knowing that the new SPCC requirements are likely to include training, companies can begin planning their education schedules and curriculums now. It is not too early to review key employee lists and figure out whether a certain person can be spared to attend training and be certified as an instructor. with real equipment, training and action is essential in the conduct of green business. Today’s SPCC directives are an excellent example. The law, as it stands today, is in many ways toothless, and will remain so until at least next summer. But in a world where the average citizen is both highly informed and environmentally conscious, the business considerations for controlling the spill of pollutants can already make a stronger case than any law.
