The growing environment is completely controlled for maximum yield. No tractors are required, which eliminates that source of emissions and fuel requirements. Water/Wastewater Show Continues to Swell The 81st annual meeting of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) was held in Chicago this October. Attendance exceeded last year’s record by just over 10 percent as 21,950 people attending from around the world came to learn about water technologies. A total of 2,378 visitors from 71 countries were involved. There were 1,111 exhibitors there as well, representing a 9.2 percent increase from last year’s record attendance. The conference is the largest water technology conference in North America. The next conference will be held in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 10 to 14, 2009. Reduce Pollution and Feed More People Valcent Products Inc. has introduced a new idea to grow vegetables that will produce less pollution and increase yield. The company grows the vegetables in racks that are stacked above each other.
