ENVIRONEWS PE people Anguil Kresic Timco Ponturo Freeman On Aug. 10, 2008, at a party celebrating the company’s 30th year in business, founder and acting president since 1978 Gene Anguil of Anguil Environmental Systems Inc., Milwaukee, announced that the company will begin its transition to the second generation. Gene will become the CEO and hand many of his current responsibilities over to his children Chris and Deborah Anguil. Chris, the present vice president of sales and marketing, will be taking over as president. Deb, the current vice president of operations, will become chief operating officer. Neven Kresic, P.G., P.H., C.G.W.P., Ph.D., has been named senior principal hydrogeologist at Mactec Engineering and Consulting Inc., Atlanta. Kresic brings more than 25 years of consulting, research and teaching experience in projects and issues related to groundwater and surface water. He has written several books, including his latest, Groundwater Resources: Sustainability, Management and Restoration, published by McGraw-Hill. Paul j. Ponturo, P.E. has recently joined H2M, Melville, N.Y., as senior water resources engineer in the Water Resource Engineering Department. Ponturo is a licensed professional engineer in New York, with over 36 years of diversified Water Resource Management experience. Dan Timco has been appointed to global director of operations at Industrial Scientific, Pittsburgh. Timco has been with the company since 2004 and previously held the position of director of operational excellence. Trinity Consultants, Dallas, has named Steve Freeman as manager of its environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) auditing practice. Freeman will lead the company’s expanding services in this area. He will join the company after 15 years at Underwriters Laboratories, where he developed and directed the firm’s EH&S management system auditing business. PE business Mergers & Acquisitions IHS Inc., Englewood, Colo., has completed its acquisition of Global Insight Inc., Waltham, Mass., as of Oct. 10, 2008. The name of the company has been changed to IHS Global Insight. The acquisition closed for $118 million in cash and approximately 1.3 million shares of IHS common stock, which were valued at $47 million. Terms of the transaction include a lock-up agreement restricting the salability of IHS shares with 10 percent of the shares restricted for one year, 50 percent for two years and 40 percent for three years. Founded in 1982, the company now has more than 100 professionals serving clients in the private and public sectors. “OEST is a great fit, geographically and strategically,” said Roger Jinks, president of AMEC’s Earth and Environmental division. “It doubles AMEC’s presence in New England and provides facility design and architectural skills necessary for many federal contracts.
