RealTime - Spring 2008 - (Page 7) NEWS >>Intermec Honors Top Partners of 2007 INTERMEC HONORED its 2007 top Honours Partners at its Global Sales Summit in January. Intermec Honours Partners represent a combination of superior software, services and market expertise in transportation and logistics, enterprise asset management, retail, government, consumer goods and field service industries. That strength, combined with Intermec technology, products and solutions, ensures that highly diverse yet very specific customer needs are met. “For over 40 years Intermec and our growing community of global partners have been sharply focused on providing our customers with the tools and technology to identify, manage and optimize their critical assets,” said Gary Jones, vice president of global channels at Intermec. “Our partner award winners for 2007 reflect the very best of our Honours Partner Program, and we applaud their success.” Intermec 2007 partner winners for each region: >> Canadian Dry Storage Increases Accuracy in Ordering and Inventory Control with Intermec CK31ex CANADIAN DRY STORAGE (CDS) has installed EX near-far imaging technology from Intermec to increase ordering accuracy and inventory control at their new state-of-the-art warehouse facility. The CDS system, consisting of Intermec CK31ex rugged mobile computers and an RF system from Intermec partner Interan Wireless, allows CDS management and warehouse workers to expedite the receiving process and keep track of the movement of products throughout the facility. Flexibility in scanning is essential for CDS. It has over 100,000 square feet in its new facility, with approximately 14,000 double-deep racked positions. It is a high-density system where pallets are stored in bays two deep and 30 feet high. With Intermec EX near-far imaging technology, CDS can now resolve challenges that come with scanning in such high-density areas, meet a wider range of scan requirements and prepare for the development of enhanced scan programs for its warehouse in the future. “We have seen a number of increases in accuracy in both ordering and inventory control as a result of implementing Intermec EX technology,” said CDS Operations Manager Chris McWilliam. “Our transactions take place much faster and are more accurate, we need less time to process information, which increases worker productivity, and Intermec EX technology gives us the ability to link an image online and capture data in real time, which provides us much faster access to valuable business information.” ❙ Asia Pacific > Partner of the Year — P.T.
