Funded with student fees and a $3 million contribution from San Manuel, the $18 million student union was named after the tribe’s leader and name sake of the reservation. But the strong relationship between the tribe and the university goes far beyond honoring a revered Indian leader who led his people to what is now the San Manuel community.
