In his new position, Chiarito will be responsible for the management of all operational, sales, profit/loss, budget and project roles for multiple stations, employees, freight forwarding and customs brokerage operations. He will also implement and manage strategic initiatives to increase growth, sales, profit and geographic footprint in the central region Meahl Gets DHL Exel Promotion Exel has announced that William F. Meahl, previously CEO of DHL Exel Supply Chain Americas, has been promoted to chief operating officer of the global DHL Exel Supply Chain. Meahl will be responsible for global business processes, including operational performance, customer management, and business development at the unit of Germany’s Deutsche Post World Net. Meahl served as Americas chief since 2007, and previously served as CEO, contract logistics. He has been with the company for 26 years. Hapag-Lloyd Names Newsome Jim Newsome will become the new president of Hapag-Lloyd (North America), effective January 1. Newsome, who is currently senior vice president of the Southern area for Hapag-Lloyd (North America), based in Kennesaw, Georgia, will succeed the current president, Klaus Altstadt, who is retiring at the end of the year after more than 40 years at the company. Singapore has said the bilateral deal builds on an FTA already reached between China and the 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), to which Singapore belongs. China is Singapore’s thirdlargest trading partner, while Singapore ranks as China’s eighth-largest trading partner.
