World Trade - January 2009 - (Page 14) TRADEWINDS Names & News Crowley Appoints Collar Crowley announced that Rinus Schepen, senior vice president and general manager of logistics, will retire in June, 2009. Schepen, a 20-year Crowley veteran, will continue to work in retirement on special assignments. At the same time, Jacksonville-based Crowley said Steve Collar will become senior vice president and general manager for the group, effective January 1, 2009. Collar serves as senior vice president and general manager of technical services. Ashwell Tapped by Zenith Zenith Global Logistics, a supply chain services provider for the home furnishing industry, has hired David Ashwell as its new director of sales for North America. Previously, Ashwell served as director of transportation for Hooker Furniture Corp., where he planned and executed the company’s furniture distribution schemes, including managing inbound and outbound logistics. He reports to Steve Wolfe, vice president of business development. Khan Chosen by Ports America Ports America has appointed Nasir Khan as its new chief development officer. Khan will be responsible for leading the company’s future investments and expansion in marine terminals. Prior to joining Ports America, Khan served as director of infrastructure and energy finance at Citigroup, New York, where he led that company’s financing of transportation sector projects in the Americas.
