Brainerd Lakes Chamber—a resource for business The Brainerd Lakes Chamber is the organization that connects businesses and leads the drive for responsible and profitable growth in the Brainerd Lakes Area. A not-for-profit organization with more than 1,100 member businesses that range in size from one employee to more than 1,000, the Brainerd Lakes Chamber serves its members by building a healthy and successful business community through active destination marketing; advocating business interests; and coordinating member-focused marketing programs, networking events, and educational opportunities. As a business located in or serving the Brainerd Lakes Area, you are able to become a member and utilize all the services available for your success. Brainerd Lakes Chamber volunteer Ambassador Committees welcome new Chamber members and business owners as well as host ribbon cutting events when businesses relocate or expand. CONNECT Although this is a fast-growing area, business still happens with a handshake, so making personal connections with other business leaders, potential customers, and current patrons is essential in the “small town” atmosphere of this big business area. The Chamber provides multiple networking events each month that members can not only attend but host, allowing them to showcase their talents and the uniqueness of their business on a personal level. Connections are also created through various committees of volunteers, who welcome new business members to the Brainerd Lakes Area and serve as greeters at the many Chamber events. In addition, the Chamber annually hosts candidate forums that are televised, giving business and community members the opportunity to make informed decisions. These, and the many other advocacy programs, are driven by volunteer committees. LEAD As a business owner and manager, your time is spent running your business, so the Chamber is at the table of government meetings, representing the voice of the business community, when decisions are made that may affect you. Area issues that have been addressed by Chamber volunteers, committees, and staff include regional planning, workforce development, main street revitalization, and sign ordinances. GROW Finally, we assist members with multiple options for communicating with the business community through specific programs, publications, and more. The Chamber provides tools and resources to share your unique business message. 32 Brainerd Lakes Area Business & Relocation Guide
