Kathy Chin Leong (“The Harmony Hopefuls”) An awardwinning travel journalist, kathy Chin leong has been an avid fan of the Central California town of Harmony for years. And when she found out it was in “transition,” she had to find out what happened. Share in her discovery on page 21. leong has written for the Los Angeles Times, Dallas Morning News, Working Woman, and a host of national publications. She recently completed a successful stint with indoor skydiving, and she has trekked the globe covering everything from the polar bear jail in Manitoba, Canada to the new Sprinkles cupcake bakery in Palo Alto. Her motto? “if it’s quirky, fun, or different, i’m there!” 2. Michael Moreci (“Chicago Moments”) is a writer living in Chicago. His journalism has been featured in North Shore magazine, New City, Stop Smiling, and In These Times. He has two comic strips forthcoming in “FutureQuake,” a British anthology. He’s recently completed his first novel and is at work on a comic series. 3. Art Shay (“Chicago Moments”) became a full-time photojournalist in the early fifties, shooting regularly for Time, Life, Fortune, and the New York Times Magazine, among others. He has a worldwide reputation for his unusual portraits: Marlon Brando, J.F.k., Nelson Algren, liz Taylor, Simone de Beauvoir, and hundreds of others depict people off-guard, memorable for their humanity rather than their celebrity. Curt Bentzinger (“The Harmony Hopefuls” and “Honor + Excellence”) is a self-taught photographer and the father of a twelve-year-old son, kyle.
