Broughton Quarterly - Fall 2008 - (Page 9) HONOR + EXCEllENCE a dozen destinations a million memories BroughtonHotels.com A Front Desk Host at The Orchid Inn at San Simeon (soon to be The Morgan), Figueroa not only provides a home for her parents, who moved north after she paved the way, but takes care of their every need: medical concerns, appointments, translation. She’s quick to assist when she notices anyone having difficulties with the language. In fact, she spends most of her spare time helping people in any way she can, whether that means contributing to local fundraisers or donating books to the community library. Wherever there’s a need, you’ll likely find Angelica. Her ultimate goal, though, is to manage her own small hotel. Good thing she works at boutique property like The orchid Inn. Call it a sign. We are pleased to present Angelica Figueroa with Broughton Hospitality’s Honor & excellence award, along with a trophy and check for one thousand dollars. palm springs solvang lake county bali santa barbara F For ANGElICA FIGuEROA, little gets lost in translation. English as a Second Language was her first priority when she moved from Mexico to California’s Central Coast. And now that she speaks well enough to teach English to other Spanish-speaking employees, Figueroa has moved on to American Sign language. Why sign language? For the simple love of communication—and an honest desire to help those in need. santa monica san simeon http://www.BroughtonHotels.com
