Broughton Quarterly - Spring 2009 - (Page 9) H ON OR + E xC E L L E N C E A Aimee Beardsley’s job as Green Team leader and Sales Assistant at The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica doesn’t slow her down. In fact, she’s been known to run around the streets in a lingerie dress—for a good cause, of course. Following her aunt’s diagnosis of colon cancer, Aimee took it upon herself to help raise awareness of cancers that hit below the belt. This includes participating in The Underwear Affair, a 10k run/5k walk that supports people battling cancer “where the sun don’t shine,” as the event organizers put it. “I feel it is my responsibility, as well as my pleasure, to help spread the word and contribute in any way I can,” said Aimee. “I will be running in my silk lingerie dress so we can all be reminded that contributing does not have to be uncomfortable. If I can be comfortable running in a lingerie dress, then you shouldn’t be uncomfortable checking for hidden cancers.” When she’s not jogging in lingerie, Aimee works to financially support her father and provide for her own child. She’s passionate about making a difference in her community, and keeps The Georgian on track when it comes to implementing sound environmental practices. Aimee Beardsley’s upbeat attitude and positive spirit have made her an integral member of our team. We are pleased to present her with Broughton Hospitality’s Honor & Excellence award, along with a trophy and check for $1,000. PHOTOS BY JEFF AND DANA SIPPER http://www.broughtonhotels.com
