EVENTS
The Year of the Arts at Buffalo State
The 2011–2012 academic year was the Year of the Arts at Buffalo
State. President Aaron Podolefsky declared the theme as a way to
showcase established and emerging artists and celebrate the
importance of art on campus. More than 300 performances,
exhibitions, workshops, and speakers were presented throughout
the year on campus and in the community.
Thousands Attended Anne Frank Project
The third annual Anne Frank Project, held in September 2011, featured
45 events—from art exhibitions to genocide survivors’ stories—and
included livestreamed video with participants in Rwanda. Using the
theme, “Our Shared Humanity: Looking Inward,” the conference
closely examined intolerance, bias, hatred, and genocide. More than
4,000 people attended conference events, which were free and open
to the public.
Students were a
driving force behind
the third annual Anne
Frank Project. Held on
campus each fall, the
Anne Frank Project
conference examines
the ideas of forgiveness,
unity, and peace in
our world.
