Annual Report 2016-2017 - 4
From the President
4 Buffalo State College 2016-2017 Annual Report
As I look back on the 2016-2017 academic year,
many bright spots come into focus. It was a year
when our students, faculty, and staff together made
significant movement forward. At the beginning
of each year, our Buffalo State community sets
ambitious goals for itself, and we then spend the
year meeting or exceeding those goals.
Many goals are augmented by the generous
donations of alumni, friends of the college, and
foundations. We are grateful to the many people
and organizations who support our mission to
educate the next generation of committed and
engaged leaders. You will see in our annual report
many examples of how students have excelled
within the classrooms and in their collaborations
with businesses, programs, and opportunities on
and off campus. We know that engaged leaders are
best suited to leap ahead postgraduation and to
make significant and pivotal contributions to the
world of work and to their broader communities.
The development and significant accomplishments of
our students are possible because of the world-class
faculty and staff members who teach and support
student development. You will see examples of their
excellence within these pages.

The success of our students depends on the entire
Buffalo State community and the many supporters
near and far. As I ponder last year, I am deeply
appreciative of the many individuals who open their
hearts, share their personal resources, and create a
bridge for our students.
Buffalo State students come to us full of promise,
and with the support of our community, they leave
us with a degree in hand, ready to roar the roar of a
Bengal. Watch out, world-Buffalo State students
are eager to change you. And I for one look forward
to these innovative and creative citizens leading our
world to new heights.
