As SUNY’s only urban four-year comprehensive college, Buffalo State has a mission that grows directly from our location. We serve the city because we are of the city. Buffalo State’s beautiful 125-acre campus is located between the hip Elmwood Village and the 350-acre Delaware Park, Buffalo’s version of Central Park. We are in the heart of a vibrant museum district, surrounded by magnificent green spaces, trendy cafés, restaurants, and shops. As a Buffalo State student, you can enjoy all the advantages of living in New York State’s Residence Life. Buffalo State offers a wide variety of residence life options for its students. Some residence halls house first-year students exclusively, some house a mix of students, and some are reserved for upper-division students. Buffalo State also offers specialty housing for specific groups and interests, including honors housing, diversity housing, and learning community housing. Buffalo State’s Resident Dining Hall in the Campbell Student Union is modern and contemporary in style and features surround-sound and flat-screen TVs. This campus hot spot welcomes resident students, commuters, faculty, staff, and visitors and is a popular setting for students to come together and enjoy a meal as well as social activities. The Retail Food Court is designed as a market featuring dining and seating on three levels. Upon entering the facility, guests overlook the entire food court and get a sense of the many choices offered by branded food service venues, including Salsarita’s for fresh Mexican food; SPoT Coffee for beverages and baked goods; Sub Generation for hot and cold subs; 2.Mato for Italian favorites; Outtakes Quick Cuisine for salads, sandwiches, and wraps; and Grandma’s Bakery for homemade treats. And at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore in the Student Union, enjoy gourmet coffee at Java U. area. You’ll have access to great internships and hands-on learning opportunities that will enrich your academic experience and help build Buffalo features national touring productions at Shea’s Performing Arts Center, Bisons baseball at Coca-Cola Field, Sabres hockey and major concerts at HSBC Arena, and trendy nightlife on Chippewa Street. Suburban Orchard Park, a 20-minute drive, is the home of Bills football; Niagara Falls—one of the world’s most visited natural wonders—is a half-hour away; and cosmopolitan Toronto, Canada’s largest city, is about a two-hour drive from campus.
