LONESTAR ENERGY FABRICATION BY KELLY MCCABE LoneStar Energy Fabrication says it has one of the largest and most advanced fabrication facilities on the Gulf Coast for building rigs and modular living quarters. LONESTAR STATE OF MIND TEXAS-BASED LONESTAR ENERGY FABRICATION’S ABILITY TO TURN AROUND COMPLEX PROJECTS FOR LAND AND OFFSHORE CLIENTS HELPS IT WIN JOBS. L COMPANY PROFILE LoneStar Energy Fabrication www.energy.lonestar-usa.net HQ: Galveston, Texas Employees: 140 Services: Fabrication, construction and rig up of oil field components, offshore rigs, land rigs and quarters buildings ocated just 20 miles from Houston and near the Houston Ship Channel, LoneStar Energy Fabrication can easily serve its land and offshore clients. On its 12-acre fabrication yard, LoneStar builds drilling rigs, components and modular living quarters. The company specializes in modular units that encompass rigs, living units and helidecks, which – when a job is completed – can be lifted with cranes, put on workboats and moved to the next location. “Typically what happens is the living quarters are rigged up on a platform offshore with the helideck; the rig comes behind that for drilling and work-over operations,” LoneStar President Brian Shanklin says. LoneStar plans to achieve API and ISO certification in early 2011, which Shanklin says will increase the company’s capabilities and stoke growth. “We’re already adhering to their criteria, but we will be able to design our own masts or derricks and substructures once we’re API certified,” he notes. Fine-Tuned Facility LoneStar’s facility is a major key to its success, Shanklin says. “We have one of the larger and more state-of-the-art fabrication facilities on the Gulf Coast,” he states. In addition to being one of the larger fabrication and rig-up yards in the area, WINTER 2011 Brian Shanklin, president: “We have one of the larger and more state-of-the-art fabrication facilities in the Gulf Coast.” 100 | EXPLORATION-PROCESSING.COM http://www.EXPLORATION-PROCESSING.COM
