WHILE GETTING IS GOOD GUYANA GOLDFIELDS INC. BENEFITS FROM FAVORABLE GOLD PRICES AS THE COMPANY DEVELOPS PROPERTIES IN SOUTH AMERICA. T he price of gold will always make or break a junior exploration company’s success. With the rate the commodity is climbing these days, combined with vast, easily accessible resources on its properties, Guyana Goldfields Inc. is well positioned to benefit from the economy’s return to normalcy in the near future. “The price of gold is a big change, and it’s on a trend for about 10 years that is steadily climbing,” President and COO Claude Lemasson says. “This is a good thing for the gold mining industry because it is a lot easier for a project to become viable. Plus, there are new projects being pursued and old ones being revisited that were tabled in the past.” Guyana Goldfields was founded in 1996 to explore and develop two main properties in Guyana, South America, known as the Aurora and Aranka Group of Properties. The Aurora Gold Project consists of a number of gold deposits that are divided into three main groups best known as Aleck Hill, Mad Kiss and Rory’s Knoll. Lemasson says this project is in the predevelopment phase, which is set to conclude at the end of this year, and the Feasibility Study National Instrument 43-101 report will be ready at that time. The development and construction of the Aurora Gold Project will last about 21 months, Lemasson says.
