Aside from helping industry executives exchange best practices and ideas, it challenges the stereotype that certain regions of the United States are better at producing wine. Few people realize that all 50 states have operating wineries, and each brings its own unique attribute to the winemaking world. What distinguishes the United States from other wine producers is its diversity, especially with regard to climate and other conditions in which the grapes are grown. That’s probably why the nation raked in $912 million in revenues for wine exports in 2009. Domestically, it is a multibillion-dollar business with limitless opportunities for growth, and I think we all can agree the timing is ripe. Cheers!
