Columbia Home & Lifestyle - January/February 2009 - (Page 11) Scattered about various shelves in the living room and library are a collection of plates depicting various animals and birds. “Even though they were bought for the Georgetown house,” Sherry said, “they fit here because of all the animals” that roam the grounds. The plates are among the many accessories and furniture items that help personalize the public space in the residence. Joy McLean, a decorator from Atlanta, originally selected these items for their Atlanta home. While it is hard to keep track of all the various moves, including their moves back and forth between Kansas City, Washington D.C. and Atlanta, that the Forsees have made during their marriage, McLean helped make the transition easier during their last three moves. “A large portion of my stuff was in storage,” Sherry said. “Almost everything I owned was on [McLean’s] computer…the colors and the dimensions, so I could start working.” It was just easier to stay with the same decorator rather than start over from scratch. “Joy knew exactly what I liked…so, we did the house in Georgetown with her, too,” Sherry said. columbia home & lifestyle 11 ABOVE: A Dutch seascape in oil hangs over the fireplace in the Forsee’s 40-foot-long living room.
