Each year, members of the corporate and medical communities come together to celebrate the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association. e funds generated at the Heart Ball will support American Heart Association-funded cardiovascular disease research to improve the lives of women, children and families in our community. In the past five years, the American Heart Association has allocated over $21 million for 179 research studies at seven institutions in Missouri. e Heart Ball also provides an opportunity for members of the community to support a special campaign, the Learn and Live Special Appeal, which addresses the critical issue of children’s heart health. Heart-related birth defects, addressing the alarming increase in childhood obesity, and teaching kids about the dangers of smoking are just a few of the issues this initiative supports.
