2 ON CAMPUS leadership: go for it “Something for everyone” is such a cliché. But with more than 100 student organizations – academic, cultural, performing arts, recreational, service and social – and a hefty roster of club and intramural sports, plus a calendar packed with events, how could you not find places to fit in and ways to get involved? Even better, every opportunity presents a chance for you to take the lead – entirely feasible in a small school like Canisius. If your particular passion is not represented, get something started – our students do it all the time. We provide support with leadership workshops and mentoring, but experience does most of the teaching. So if you pick up a few life skills along the way – how Saturday night. You’re in the mood to hang out, maybe catch some music. Or a stand-up comic. Or a first-run movie. At Canisius, you can do it all right on campus, for free or close to it. And this is just a glimpse of what life here is all about. to run a meeting, manage a budget, promote an event, solve a problem, play well with others – well, that is the idea. “Student life at Canisius is not just about attending classes then going back to your dorm.
