Our city setting is a significant advantage for students who seek these opportunities because of our close proximity to a wide range of businesses and organizations. Internships www.canisius.edu/academics/internships Internships are a great way to apply what you learn in the classroom. Each year, hundreds of Canisius students participate in internships in Western New York, across the state, in other parts of the country and even in other parts of the world. Our full-time internship director will help students seek and find internships that match their interests. Faculty, as well as the Career Center’s on-line College Central database of internship and job postings, are also excellent resources for internship information. In addition, students who plan to study abroad may seek possible overseas internships through the International Student Programs Office. Our students present their research at professional conferences and are published in professional journals. While some students conduct research with state-of-the-art equipment on the Canisius campus, others assist faculty during experiential learning opportunities at exciting site locations such as Sri Lanka, British Columbia and Maine. In addition to the countless academic benefits students gain from their collaboration with faculty, many students are paid for their work through specialized grant programs sponsored by the college and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
