fast facts p More than 85 percent of Canisius College housing has been built new or renovated within the last nine years. p The Peter Gust Economou Dining Hall is one of only 14 college dining halls to be named a Chartwells Center of Excellence. Chartwells is the food service provider at Canisius and at more than 200 other colleges across the country. p Canisius is the only school in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) to sponsor a chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student athlete honor society. ↑ Students choose from several fresh food stations at the Economou Dining Hall. The spiritual side www.canisius.edu/camp_minist The Office of Campus Ministry promotes ethical values and social justice, and provides pastoral counseling and spiritual direction for students. The office also oversees all aspects of the college’s service programs. They include building homes in Appalachia, feeding the poor in New York City and teaching young children in Mexico. A safe environment www.canisius.edu/public_safety The Office of Public Safety employs peace officers to ensure that student safety is a top priority and that the Canisius campus continues to be a safe place to live. A campus shuttle system operates from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. each day, all campus housing includes a 24-hour security access system and the campus is equipped with an extensive blue light emergency phone system.
