CDM News - May 2008 - (Page 14) Global Citizenship CDM’s support of the Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) program organized by Northeastern University helped the program win a $3 million grant from the National Science Foundation. Metro Boston (EWMB) to tackle one of the area’s most pressing issues. Thirty-three employees have volunteered as reading mentors in EWMB’s Power Lunch program at the Morse School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The volunteers meet one-on-one with students for weekly reading sessions. Everybody Wins! At their annual gala fundraiser, TreePeople honored CDM with their Partner in Community Award for leadership work in sustainability. The event took place at CDM’s Kellene M. BurnRoy, P.E., and Jane Usher, Warner Bros. Studios Evergreen Award recipient. in Burbank, California. An Evening Under the Harvest Moon is TreePeople’s annual benefit dinner and awards program. Proceeds benefit TreePeople’s forestry, environmental education, and sustainability programs in Southern California. Children in Crisis Engineers Without Borders (EWB)-USA Volunteers Reach out to West Africa CDM, an EWB-USA Platinum Sponsor, recently supported four CDM employees in traveling to Togo, West Africa.
