(Chicago) was appointed chair of the Watershed Management Committee of the Illinois Water Environment Association. Tom A. Pedersen, CPSS (Cambridge), is the vice chair of the Water Environmental Federation (WEF) Sustainability Community of Practice and the chair of the WEF Environmental Management Systems Committee. Carol A. Rego, P.E. (Cambridge) is serving on the organizing committee for the 2007 U.S. Frontiers of Engineering Symposium, sponsored by the National Academy of Engineering. Roberts, P.E., BCEE (Cambridge) was elected to a 3-year term on the Water for People board of directors. He was also appointed to the International Council of the American Water Works Association as the Water for People board representative. Richard W. Sawey, P.E., BCEE (Fort Worth) was appointed to the board of directors of the newly created Northern Trinity Groundwater Control District. Part of an overall water management plan that includes nine districts in the 45 counties overlying the Trinity aquifer, the district was formed to protect underground water resources in Tarrant County, Texas. Kelly A. Collins, P.G. (Albuquerque) was elected treasurer of the Western Coalition of Arid States (WESTCAS), an organization that encourages the development of water programs and regulations to ensure adequate supplies of high-quality water while protecting the environment in the arid western United States. Christopher J. Fahlin (Denver) was elected vice president of the board of directors for the Denver chapter of Engineers Without Borders-USA (EWB-USA). Chris is also the program manager for the CDM-EWB program, which is a corporate-sponsored philanthropy, outreach, and training program. A platinum sponsor of EWB, CDM also supports volunteer service by providing grants of up to $2,500 per employee to assist with travel expenses and immunizations as part of the CDMEWB Program. Kris A. Larson (Helena) was elected vice president of the Montana Association of Geographic Information Professionals. Christopher L. Mickle (Cambridge) was appointed chair of the Conservation Commission of Norwell, Massachusetts.
