No Wake Zones as marked Life Jackets: 1. A wearable life jacket/ preserver at all times for every person on vessel. 2. Children 12 and under must wear life jacket/preserver at all times 3. Lake Erie only- Children must wear Type 2PFS preserver. Registration: 1. Vessels must have valid registration from home state. 2. Vessels kept on NYS inland waterways over 90 days must have a valid NYS registration 3. No insurance requirements. Special Regulations: 1. Privately Owned Personal Water Craft (“Jet Skis”) NYS requires ALL operators of personal water craft to obtain a safety certificate.
