Australia NADAC is thriving in Australia. Recently the Australian NADAC
Nationals were held in Keilor, Victoria. Visiting U.S. NADAC judges were
impressed with the enthusiasm and talent of the teams competing in the
event, not to mention the variety of dogs. There were 42 owners and 63
dogs competing over the three-day event. The overall Highest in Trial was
won by Bubbles, an almost three-year-old Pomeranian cross owned by
Michelle Jewell. In the short time that NADAC has been available in
Australia, the number of host groups, judges, and exhibitors has increased
greatly and undoubtedly will continue to do so. Australian exhibitors and
their dogs are thoroughly enjoying both being part of an international
organization and NADAC as a venue. Already many Australian exhibitors have
earned NADAC awards and titles and the ﬁrst NATCH “Down Under” is
likely to be awarded sometime early next year. At this stage the plans for
NADAC in Australia are to continue to promote NADAC based on the principles
of the organization, to assist clubs or groups to become NADAC-sanctioned
and to help them learn how to run a NADAC trial, to focus on continuing
education of existing NADAC judges in Australia, to actively recruit new
judges, and to provide NADAC exhibitors with the opportunity to learn
basic through advanced handling skills by drawing upon the many talented

Jensen TDAA Petit Prix National Agility Tournament 2006, the third Petit
Prix, was held on October 13, 14, and 15, 2006, in a climate-controlled
indoor arena on the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springﬁeld, Illinois,
with the largest number of participants ever. Fifteen states were
represented. New additions to this year’s competition were the 24 Weave
Pole Challenge, four junior handlers, and team competition. In addition to
the competitions, the participants also enjoyed a welcome reception, many
special awards, and an opening ceremony. The weave pole challenge was won
by Klassie Yorkshire Terrier handled by Maureen Mickens with a time of
6.70 seconds. The four junior handlers did well and were each recognized

TDAA Championship round 1st through 10th place ﬁnalists, 4” class in
the team competition really planned for the event, costumes and all. The
welcome reception at the host hotel was well attended with great food and
door prizes as well as an opportunity for participants to pick up the
impressive goodie bags. Some of the special awards included several
breed-specific, high-scoring awards, high-scoring purebred rescue,
high-scoring veteran handler, high-scoring mixed breed rescue,
high-scoring veteran dog, “most marks” award, lowest scoring rafﬂe,
and so on. The opening ceremony on Saturday had a participant from each
state carrying a banner following the American ﬂag around the arena.
After the national anthem and a blessing, the tournament began. After two
days of competition, which included ﬁve games and three standard runs,
champions in each jump height emerged: 16 , Bow, Shetland Sheepdog, Pat
Schleicher of Ohio; 12 , Bogie, Shetland Sheepdog, Bud Houston of Ohio; 8
, Libby, Cocker Spaniel, Laura English of Indiana; and 4 , Maggie,
Dachshund, Chris Moore of Indiana. The two judges for this event, Deb Auer
from Springﬁeld, Illinois, and Joan Wieckowski from Corvants Pass,
Oregon, designed courses with great challenges and opportunities for
competitors to show their skills.The games played this year in the
tournament rounds were Black Hole, Double or Nothing, Beat the Clock
Cuckoo version , and Group Choice, while the game in the championship
round was Wild West Pinball.Twenty breeds were entered, showing the
diversity of dogs competing in the TDAA venue. United States Dog Agility
Association By Staff Due to repeated requests for video coverage of the
USDAA Championships, USDAA engaged an outside production company to film
the main events of this year’s Cynosport World Games. The production
company, Premier Enterprises, has just completed work on three programs,
each on a separate disc: Disc 1, $10,000 Dog Agility Steeplechase
Championship Finals; Disc 2, USDAA Performance National Standard
Championship Finals; and Disc 3, USDAA Grand Prix of Dog Agility World
Championship Finals. Each program runs almost an hour and includes course
analysis and play-by-play commentary. Each disc is $24.95 but the complete
three-disc set can be purchased for $49.99 three for the price of two .

information. Next year we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Grand
Prix of Dog Agility.The event will be held in beautiful Scottsdale,
Arizona, October 31 to November 4, 2007. Great plans are in the making and
we invite all who have not attended before to be a part of our celebration.
