In 2003 Mike Murphy and then 5-year-old Jack Russell, Bailey, won the 12
division of the USDAA $10,000 Steeplechase Championship. They went on to
compete the next year for the U.S. at the second IFCS International
Federation of Cynological Sports Championships in Spain. After a grueling
year of USDAA tournament competitions, Mike and Bailey returned to Europe
in 2006 to represent the U.S. at the third IFCS Championships in the
Netherlands. They are one of the most popular teams in the Northeast. Mike
is known for always leaving the course with a smile on his face and a good
word for his dog. AS: You have three Jack Russells, Darby, Bailey, and
baby Emmy. AS: How has your handling evolved over the years? How have your
training methods changed since you first began MM: In the beginning, I was
running to keep up, and I did a lot with Darby? of steering and screaming
