MEB: How did you choose Detox? GD: I really liked both parents. There were 10 pups in the litter Bone up now... and I wanted a girl, so there were 9 bitches to choose from. All the Greg Derrett's third pups were great with fantastic drive. I chose Detox because she had phenomenal structure and great play drive. DVD will be MEB: Is there anything different you will do with Detox in training or handling? released in 2007! GD: I think that I would like to teach Detox a running A-frame. GT has stopped contacts two-on/two-off with nose touches and her contacts have been very good, but I would like to try to gain a Look for Greg's newest video to appear at more competitive advantage with a running A-frame. www.cleanrun.com. 'Til then, hone your skills with these Derrett classics, available now at Clean Run. MEB: How do you improve speed and motivation in a dog? GD: Play drive and lots of tugging, and I really do nothing else until I get that maximum toy and food drive outside of agility. I think that most people are too quick to teach the equipment and move on to sequencing. I would rather have a 15-month-old pup that knows basically nothing and will play tug of war than have a pup of the same age that knows everything in terms of equipment without food and toy drive. I also use the learn to earn philosophy. We do recommend Susan Garrett's book Ruff Love to some of our students. Dogs should not just be given privileges in life for free and then be expected to work in agility.http://www.cleanrun.com http://www.cleanrun.com http://www.caninecards.co.uk http://www.caninecards.co.uk
