Embedded Systems Design - Europe - August/September 2007 - (Page 41) new products Board provides 8 serial PCI ports With the PC/104-Plus compatible board MICROSPACE MSMX104+ Digital-Logic provides a integrated interface board with eight serial PCI ports and a multiplexed 32 bit address/ data bus. Each port can be configurated individually for TTL, RS232 or RS485 signals and supports high data transfer rates up to 250 kbit/s. The compact board is based on the 16C550 compatible PCI Bus UART EXAR XR17C158/V with eight channels, a 64 byte transmit and receive FIFO, and automatic RTS/CTS, DTR/DSR and Xon/Xoff software flow control. It is the suitable for sensor and data acquisition applications in industrial environments. The PC/104-Plus board hardware provides flexibility and adaptability. Interface type, transfer rate, parity, data and stop bits can be selected and set individually for each port. This enables the board to be adapted to the needs of the different applications. In addition, the board supports the full-duplex RS485 mode. An individual disable function allows the user to disable unused ports to further reduce the power consumption. Because of its compatibility to serial PC standard interfaces the board works with common communication software and operating systems like Windows and Linux. The 90 mm x 96 mm x 15 mm (l x w x h) sized board requires a 5 V power supply and operates within the standard temperature range of 0°C to +70°C at a relative humidity between 0 and 90 percent. Typical current consumption is 250 mA. The periphery board is also available for the extended temperature range of –40°C to +85°C. The board resists shock up to 10g and vibrations from 5 Hz to 2000 Hz. www.digitallogic.ch Autosar code generator eases integration The latest version of dSPACE’s production code generator, TargetLink 2.2.1, expands the compatibility for Autosar-compliant development. It supports Autosar specification 2.0.0 SP3, the standard currently in frequent use. This means that the Autosar software components and description files generated by TargetLink can be imported by other tools and integrated with other software components. The support of Autosar packages greatly improves data handling: elements such as Autosar interfaces, data types and scaling formulas can now be structured and stored for easy reusability. This enables users to exchange data with other tools and perform structured data management with high transparency and no redundancies. The new frame model generation feature is aconvenient starting point for modeling Autosar software components: first the software components are described, then a frame model is automatically generated from TargetLink Autosar blocks. The frame model already contains the ports, runnables and interfaces. The developer then inserts the control algorithm into this model frame to obtain a complete Autosar software component. TargetLink 2.2.1 also offers compatibility to the current MATLAB Release R2007a+ and support for other microprocessors. Production code for the Freescale 56F8xx controller and the Renesas SH-2A can now be tested by TargetLink processor-in-the-loop simulation, and the code’s memory consumption and run time can be analyzed. Audi and DaimlerChrysler have reported positively on the use of TargetLink Autosar models in their projects for driver and passenger comfort, vehicle interior and suspension www.dspace.com/ Green Hills supports Intel vPro processors Green Hills Software has extended its INTEGRITY PC secure operating system technology to take advantage of new security features in desktop PCs powered by the latest Intel vPro processor technology. INTEGRITY PC works with Intel vPro processor technology to perform a secure boot in which the PC hardware, BIOS, and INTEGRITY kernel are measured to provide trust in the execution environment. INTEGRITY PC is a software platform designed for the military, intelligence, financial, medical, and other critical infrastructure communities where PC users must manage and protect high value information. INTEGRITY PC is based on the safety and security-certified INTEGRITY real-time operating system and incorporates a suite of secure software components, including Green Hills Software’s Padded Cell virtualization software. Padded Cell, optimized with Intel Virtualization Technology, enables multiple guest operating systems – such as Windows, Linux, and Solaris – and their applications to be run in secure partitions on the same computer. The resulting platform enables systems designers to build the most security-critical applications and run them alongside familiar operating environments, saving cost, size, weight, and power over multiple hardware platforms. www.ghs.com www.embedded.com/europe | embedded systems design europe | AUGUST – SEPTEMBER 2007 41 041_ESDE.indd 41 6/09/07 13:19:28 http://www.digitallogic.ch http://www.ghs.com http://www.dspace.com/ http://www.embedded.com/europe
