Game Connection America@GDC • San Francisco • February 19-21, 2008 Game Connection America@GDC Game Connection is one of the biggest business-only conventions in the game industry, and a unique international marketplace for game developers, service providers, publishers and distributors looking to expand their networks and find their next business partners. Dates and Location Game Connection America@GDC takes place for three days, on February 19-21, and welcomes game and service sellers and buyers together on the same days, at the same location inside the GDC in the Moscone Center (3rd Floor, West Hall). Game Connection also usually takes place in two other locations: Lyon, France in December and Tokyo, Japan in September. The seventh European edition, which took place from December 4 to 6 2007 in Lyon, brought together a record 700 businessfocussed professionals spurring on the growth of the video game market. This year the event brought in 208 exhibitors selling titles, services, or technology, and more than 150 buyers. 90% of the top twenty publishers were represented, and just over 5900 meetings took place in three days. The event was truly international with representatives from 35 countries in attendance. What Does Game Connection Do? Game Connection provides several different services, all geared toward the same goals: matchmaking between developers and publishers, network building and enhancement, and evaluation of projects and companies. Game Connection’s main objective is to provide a private, quiet space, where discussions and negotiations can easily take place.
