The emulator was originally introduced in 2007 for the WiMAX and cellular markets. Now new models and enhanced configurations allow it to scale to meet RF testing needs. Configurations from full 4x4 to multiple 2x2, unidirectional or bi-directional are all supported with simple configuration and no re-cabling required. The company has also added enhanced multilink capabilities for all new models. Multi-link enables broad flexibility of topology configuration controlled from the GUI, allowing different models, velocities and devices to be combined. Designed from the ground up as a MIMO test solution, the ACE 400WB is purposebuilt for testing mobile broadband wireless equipment like WiMAX and LTE. www.mwee.com/207000384 Miniature power meters extended frequency limit up to 26.5 GHz Satori Technology have extended its range of USB power meters with the release of the ST265 miniature RF and Microwave power meter. According to Satori Technology, this new unit extends the frequency limit for available USB power meters up to 26.5 GHz. (The ST265 now covers a frequency range of 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz.) All measurement data and settings are sent via a USB interface to and from a PC or laptop. This gives the experience of using a computer as the user interface in classic microwave power measurement. Each power meter contains a CPU which controls the sensor, processes the measurement results and operates the USB interface. The ST265 extends the company’s existing series (ST124 and ST185 USB Power Meters). Extended individual calibration procedures have resulted in improved temperature compensation and better linearity performance with RF frequency. The use of a K-type RF connector gives repeatedly low reflection coefficients up to 26.5 GHz. The company supplies its own software toolkit which enables multiple power meters to be operated simultaneously. Drivers are available for Agilent VEE and National Instruments LabVIEW. Measuring 34 x 43 x 125 mm, the meters weigh 83g. www.mwee.com/207000308 RF switch platform aims to cut custom development time in half Agilent Technologies Inc. has introduced an RF switch platform designed to simplify the task of defining and building a custom switch matrix. According to the company, the Agilent L4490A/ 91A RF switch platform allows R&D and manufacturing engineers to cut their RF switch development time by up to 50 percent. Engineers can use the platform to create custom switch matrices for design validation and functional test of aerospace and defense communications equipment, and for wireless equipment such as mobile radios, handsets and base stations. The RF switch platform is available in two options. The 2U and 4U versions come with space to mount switches and other components. Both platforms come standard with 64 coil drives integrated into the enclosure, with several options offered for expansion. www.mwee.com/207000405 RF signal hunter handheld for field operation The H600 RFHawk handheld digital RF signal hunter from Tektronix Communications targets the surveillance and security market. The signal hunter combines a high-performance spectrum analyzer with an intuitive set of user controls, allowing for the quick classification and location of both analog and digital RF transmissions. Using the H600 RFHawk, surveillance engineers and field operators can quickly spot and locate illegitimate analog and digital RF transmission sources in the field. The touch-screen user interface is designed for field conditions and optimized for scanning the RF environment, classifying the known signals and locating the unknown or illegitimate analog and digital RF transmission sources. www.mwee.com/207000406 Microwave Engineering ● April 2008 ● www.mwee.com 041_MWEE.indd Sec1:41 28/03/08 17:32:05 http://www.mwee.com/207000384 http://www.mwee.com/207000308 http://www.mwee.com/207000405 http://www.filter-solutions.com http://www.filter-solutions.com http://www.mwee.com/207000406 http://www.mwee.com
