Microwave Engineering Europe - June 2008 - (Page 41) PRODUCTS 41 Mobile WiMAX chip highly integrated French WiMAX chip supplier Sequans Communications has introduced a mobile single chip solution that is claimed to integrate advanced baseband functionality plus radio frequency and SDRAM. The SQN1170 is the sixth mobile WiMAX chip delivered by the company, following a Mobile WiMAX Wave 1 chip in 2006, two baseband Mobile WiMAX Wave 2 chips in 2007 for base station and mobile stations and two RF chips (2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz). The device measures 12 x 12 mm, has throughput of more than 30 Mbps and draws less than 600 mW in peak MIMO mode. Applications include mobile handsets, smartphones, and PDAs. The IC also targets embedded PC applications enabling WiMAX into MID and UMPC devices, as well as small form-factor PC accessories like USB dongles. www.mwee.com/207801242 Fixed attenuators target cost-sensitive applications BroadWave Technologies has introduced a line of low cost fixed 1-W attenuators, which are available in SMA (model 351-300-XXX), N (model 352-300-XXX), TNC (model 353-300-XXX) and BNC (model 354-300XXX) connectors. Male to female configurations are standard, other configurations are available upon request. Attenuation values range from 1 to 40 dB in 1 dB increments. www.mwee.com/207403227 Quality test platform now supports WiMAX SwissQual’s Diversity Network Optimization and Benchmarking system now supports WiMAX. Diversity provides simultaneous, end-to-end testing for voice, data and video. It is a scalable drive test solution offering network benchmarking, optimization and service monitoring. The platform monitors and analyzes data, video and voice, including VoIP services using SwissQual voice and video quality algorithms. It is designed to help service providers identify interference issues and cell site configuration problems enabling a rapid deployment and smooth on going maintenance of the network. It can also show a direct comparison of the quality delivered by a new WiMAX network versus that of existing networks running other technologies. www.mwee.com/207403239 Microwave Engineering ● June 2008 ● www.mwee.com http://www.mwee.com/207403227 http://www.mwee.com/207801242 http://www.resistor.com http://www.mwee.com/207403239 http://www.mwee.com
