With improved audio analysis and operation, the new test set offers lighter weight, integrated audio test connections and a new microphone interface. In a cast magnesium alloy case, the 3500A weighs almost 0.5 kg less than its predecessor, the 3500. Weight is an important factor for engineers and technicians when performing radio tests in the field and the 3500A claims to be the first fully functional 1-GHz radio test set to weigh under 3.7 kg. The hand-held test set includes testing capabilities for AM and FM radio Advanced mezzanine card for WiMAX/LTE includes optical CPRI/OBSAI antenna interfaces The AMC-3C87F is a single width Advanced Mezzanine Card from CommAgility that provides a mix of multicore DSP and FPGA processing power together with flexible, high bandwidth I/O connectivity. This makes the card ideal for wireless baseband, test and other processing-intensive applications such as WiMAX and Long Term Evolution of 3GPP (LTE). For use in MicroTCA or AdvancedTCA systems, the module includes three Texas Instruments TCI6487 multicore DSPs running at 1 GHz to provide a high-performance DSP resource. It also provides a Xilinx Virtex-5 SX95T FPGA for interfacing and DSP co-processing. Dual front-panel optical SFP sockets are provided for industry-standard CPRI and OBSAI links to wireless radio heads, units under test or other optical data links such as Ethernet backhaul. Flexible sync options include a GPS or other reference clock, or the optical links themselves. CommAgility and its partners enable customers to obtain a complete basestation WiMAX PHY layer solution based on the AMC-3C87F module.
