My concern with the article is that it fosters a “group think” that may not be correct. Valuing only tangible assets is the path of least resistance with respect to regulations and practice acquisitions (you can’t be criticized if you take the most conservative position), but it may be technically wrong and not in the best interests of the physicians (sellers) or precedent for these transactions. Published articles like this one are frequently viewed as providing “authoritative” guidance that some people will want to rely on.
