The nuts and Bolts of Media Funding 8:00am–4:30pm Increasingly, media funders aim to support projects and programs that use innovative and cutting-edge technologies. However, many don’t know where to begin. In an advanced technological age with a dizzying array of platform options—television, the internet, podcasts, kiosks, mobile phones, YouTube video clips, radio, webisodes, feature-length documentaries, and gaming—determining the right delivery format poses both an important consideration and a potential challenge. Following grantmakers in Film + electronic media’s successful Philanthropy and media mini-Summit, held during the Council on Foundations Summit in may, funders wanted to learn the basics of media funding and policy. Join us for this day-long seminar designed to address the nuts and bolts of media funding. We’ll share past and current best practices in media funding and provide you with the knowledge and tools to further your program goals. Novice and seasoned media funders are encouraged to attend.
