Once again, this year’s article has been updated to reflect current information on the widest possible selection of seminar offerings, books and other resources of interest to compliance professionals. This year, we’ve also included information on popular symposia programs and workshops, as well as professional certification programs. We hope you’ll reference this article throughout the year as you look to expand your technical knowledge. hether you’re new to the field of regulatory compliance, or a seasoned compliance engineer, your continuing professional value is often measured by what you can contribute in meeting the challenges of today and tomorrow. New projects and new work assignments can provide opportunities to develop new technical and professional skills, and to hone existing ones. But attendance at seminars and self-education through reading represent are two of the many, more structured ways in which you can refresh and rejuvenate your knowledge, and expand your technical horizons. What you’ll find here is an extensive list of public, private and on-line seminars and workshops, nearly two dozen book titles, and several other resources dealing with EMC and product safety regulatory compliance issues that you might consider as you look to expand your technical knowledge. This article isn’t intended to provide a comprehensive listing of every available seminar and book on EMC and product safety. No doubt, we’ve unintentionally excluded many worthwhile 3 Conformity JAnUAry 2009 W listings that we simply didn’t know about. Therefore, as in past years, we invite our readers to write us at editor@ conformity.com with suggestions for additional listings. We promise to update this article at least annually with your contributions. Seminars and Workshops Seminars and workshops are offered by a number of companies in the field. Typically, seminar programs are taught by experienced engineers affiliated with testing laboratories, or independent consultants who may also offer design consulting services. Seminars may be public (that is, programs conducted in public locations according to a published schedule that are open to all who wish to register), or private (sometimes called “custom” seminars, but typically held by companies at their offices exclusively for their employees).
